The drive to the airport would have been smooth if not for the traffic. Would Lagos ever be free from traffic? She thought as she shook her head in annoyance.

“Thank God! The children chorused as Kay drove into the airport parking lot, she had called Remi earlier to wait for them at the parking lot, so sighting her was easy. She had grown bigger and her fair skin shone brightly in the sun. What do they call it again? Sun-kissed! She smiled as she got down and waved to her.

“Remi took after their mom in stature, skin color and almost everything. She smiled as she wrapped her in a bear hug and collected her bag. It’s so nice to see you again baby sister! It’s been two years now since we saw o if not for Whats App video call. You haven’t changed a bit. Doyin exclaimed as she looked at her sister all over again, turning her face slightly. 

“Stop being so dramatic about everything sis! I missed you too. But please can we get to the car now? I’m tired, hungry and sleepy.

“It’s good to see you Remi, he hugged her. And you look good and much bigger now. Kay said as he took her small box and placed it in the booth.

It’s good to see you too Uncle Kay. Yes o, it’s a sign of good living o coupled with the baby bump. She said as she rubbed her tummy. Smiling, she gathered her nieces for a nice hug. Awwww aunty missed you so much darlings…

She wiped the sweat on her face as she took the last morsel of the pounded yam. Ha! Sis, you have not losed your cooking skills o. It was so delicious. She said with satisfaction written all over her face.

Thank you dear. She answered as she called Rhekia to pack the plates. Ehn ehn, she said as she shifted closer to her, what happened between you and Busayo that you guys couldn’t settle that made you pack your bags and come here? Is it really that serious? Worry creased her brow as she looked at her sister; who was obviously not concerned nor bothered at all.

Ha! Sister mi… let me rest a bit now! I am tired! It’s not something that’s really important like that. I needed to do some thinking and clear my head and since I haven’t seen you in two years, that’s why I decided to come and do my thinking here. Or are you not happy to see me ni? She asked, stretching out her hands.

“Of course I’m happy to see you baby sis! I just care about you and your marriage that’s all. Coupled with the fact that you’re pregnant!

I’ll be fine! In fact, I’m fine! We will discuss better when I’m fully rested. She rolled her eyeball in frustration as she stood up and walked out on her.

She looked at Remi thoughtfully as she walked into the visitor’s room. “Dear Lord, please don’t let what happened to me, happen to her o. Calm every storm that is raging against her home lord.

"Slightly closing her eyes against the daylight that filled the room, she turned to the bedside table and picked her phone. 9a.m! I must have slept soundly o she thought as she placed her hands on her forehead. So much that I didn’t even notice when he stood up from the bed for his Saturday’s morning jogs.
