CAUSES OF MARITAL DESPERATION
What is DESPERATION??
Desperation is the state of doing anything in your means to get what you want.
What are the causes of marriage desperation?
1. Purposeless living: When you lack purpose you lack focus and direction. You are being driven by any and every thing. People around you can easily put you under pressure. But when you have a defined purpose for your life, you will be so busy pursuing it. Remember Adam was busy pursuing his purpose until God saw that it is not good for him not to continue alone then provided a helper for him.
2. Fear of being lonely: Some singles become desperate for relationship because the they are lonely or are afraid of being lonely. They begin to look for someone that will keep them company and feel the empty space in their hearts. Truth be told, no one can feel the emptiness you experience in your heart except God.
3. Fear of repeating the past: Maybe some of your family member married at age you consider late, or never got married at all and you begin to think you might end up like them. Remember you are in Christ and a new creature. Old things are passed away.
3. Pressure from family & peers: Due to pressure from people around them, some singles have become desperate for relationship/marriage. They can't handle the pressure any longer hence the want to marry by all means. Don't forget if you make a mistake in your choice, those that pressured you into it will soon laugh at you or pity you.
4. Fear of never being accepted: You may be of the notion that your beauty is fading because you are advancing in age. This may lead you into believing that you will not get suitors like when you were younger, hence you are desperate to accept anyone that comes your way.
When you make choices based on any of these above mentioned factors, you risk choosing the wrong person and perhaps ending in regret.
